Sentence Focus-Infinitives
Today we wrote about a fear that we had. The sentence type we were learning about was "the infinitive phrase". Here's a preview:
To ride the Titan at Six Flags Over Texas was quite the nightmare! I never really intended to ride it but junior made me, so I hopped on, clutched the metal bar in front of me and held on for dear life. As the cars began to rail themselves upward, I closed my eyes and braced for the inevitable. Soon, we would make the treacherous descent downward. Junior teasingly coerced me to open my eyes, but I refused, not wanting to watch any of it. Before I knew it, my car leaned over the edge and down we raced, and I
thought my little heart was going to stop.

Weekly Plan
We will continue work on commas-beginning, interrupting, and ending uses. The new STARR rubric will be discussed and previewed and we will apply what we've learned to an expository paper!
